Tea from China - PU ERH ORCHID SHENG CHA 2012- Cake 357G
Historically, the name Pu Erh dark teas originates from the eponymous village located on the Silk Road, southern Yunnan, region where tea business was once concentrated. The success worldwide of these dark teas among the amateurs prompted the Chinese government to define in 2003 the designation "Pu Erh" in order to protect the originality of these teas. Pu-Erh tea cakes have the specificity to become better if kept properly. For storage put the tea cake in a non-sunlight, dry, odour-free environment. Harvested South-West of Yunnan Province, at 1800 m altitude, among high mountains and dense forests, the persistent and covering mist creates an exceptionnal tea environement typical of Cang Yuan County, Lin Cang. There, is found the Yunnan broad-leaved tea cultivar named Xiang Gui Yin Hao. This tea was harvested in spring 2012, in the heart of a valley covered with wild orchids which transmit their scent to the tea plants. Its infusion delivers a sweet taste with orchid aroma.
