Tea from CEYLAN - SILVER BUDS

A white tea harvested by hand from high altitude tea bushes selected for their considerable pubescence. Gentle drying in the morning sun for a week preserves the silvery buds intact, and helps develop the fragrance of this tea, with its mix of flowery clover and mock orange notes with those of yellow orchard fruits.

WITHE TEAS

White tea is the most prized variety. It is a rare product because the majority of the production comes from a single geographic area, the Chinese province of Fujian. It is one of the six colours of tea defined in China, and is unusual in that little human intervention is required to produce it. The height of elegance, the varieties used to produce white tea are covered with a silver-white down. Could this be the original tea?

SRI LANKA, THE TEA ISLAND

It was a Scottish man, James Taylor, who introduced the first tea bushes around 1860, bringing plants from the famous tea regions of China and Assam. Nowadays, the plantations cover a large part of the island and rise to an altitude of 2500 m. The liquors produced are amber-coloured, smooth, and lightly astringent in character. Mainly producer of black tea, some gardens are now developing the noble manufacture of white tea.
Produced in small quantity, this kind of tea is generally reserved for western clientele.
